Transitioning the language classroom to a fully online environment can be a daunting process, especially for instructors who will be teaching virtually for the first time this Fall. In these times, drawing on the experience of fellow language instructors saves valuable time and creates opportunities for collaboration.

In this session, Somayeh Kamranian (Sessional Instructor of French, FHIS) will share her learnings from blending a course at SFU in 2016 and her past online teaching experiences, bringing these lessons together in her transition to online courses during the pandemic. Join us to hear more about the successes and challenges of blending synchronous and asynchronous activities for the online language classroom, and share your own experiences with transitioning courses online.
