MITACs, a national, not for profit research organization offers programs to the next generation of innovators to develop vital scientific and business skills. With many resources targeting PDFs, Mitacs makes available opportunities to partner with companies, government and academia via internships, placements and training.

If you are interested in enriching your UBC PDF experience, join us for a 1 hour info session. Laurence Meadows, Mitacs Team Lead & Director, Business Development will provide a presentation on Mitacs’ various programs available to PDFs to help determine the right opportunity for you. Laurence will also be available after the presentation for those PDFs wanting a more in depth one on one discussion.

About the Presenter:

Dr. Laurence Meadows received his B.A. in Biochemistry from Oxford University and his Ph.D. from McGill University (Department of Neurology & Neurosurgery), during which he examined the properties of abnormal voltage-gated sodium channels and their effects on epilepsy. He subsequently spent 4 years as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Michigan (Department of Pharmacology) where he continued his research on sodium channels before joining MITACS in February, 2006 as a Business Development Director.
