Postdoc in the Medical Physics Department at the Grand River Regional Cancer Center

Posting Expiry

The Medical Physics Department at the Grand River Regional Cancer Center is seeking a postdoctoral researcher in the areas of quality assurance and adaptive radiation therapy. The postdoctoral researcher will be responsible for and to drive various research areas described below:

Quality Assurance of RapidArc Radiation Therapy of the Prostate: Evaluation and Comparison of Different Dosimetric Methods
Dosimetric Evaluation of Linac Based Hypo-Fractionated Stereotactic Body Radiation therapy for Prostate Cancer Radiotherapy with VMAT and Flattening Filter Free Beams
Use of Flattening Filter Free Photon Beams for RapidArc Treatment Planning of Prostate Cancer: Monte Carlo and Measurement Based Study

These projects will involve a mix of experimental data collection and computational data analysis and algorithm development. While this position is primarily R&D, the successful candidate will gain clinical radiotherapy physics experience. This is an excellent opportunity for physicists or engineers to pursue a career in radiotherapy. Grand River Hospital offers a unique world-class training environment and the opportunity to pursue cutting-edge research experience.
