Project Description

For my Killam Postdoctoral Fellowship, I am developing and testing theory as to how biodiversity, food web structure, and ecosystem functioning can be maintained as the climate changes. I use mathematical simulations and experiments to explore how changing habitat connectivity, species interactions, and evolution combine to determine how communities rearrange. By advancing our understanding of how these processes interactively modify the response of natural communities to climate change, this research will inform strategies for preserving biodiversity and ecosystem functioning as conditions change.
