The workshop covers project budget development, and goes into detail on the requirements for a research project budget. At the end of the workshop, participants will be familiar with project budget development and expense categorization, and will receive some spreadsheet templates to get started in preparing a project budget. No prior experience necessary, familiarity with MS Excel and completion of the Introduction workshop recommended but not required.

About the Facilitator:

Robyn Roscoe is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) with 13 years of experience in the management of large health research projects, and over 20 years experience in project management in scientific and technical fields. She is currently Director of Management and Administration for the BC Cancer Agency Genome Sciences Centre (GSC), and is responsible for project and finance management. Together with the team of 20 project managers and coordinators, Robyn is responsible for management of all project and platform work at the GSC, representing a total portfolio of nearly $150M. Robyn has previously worked in the environment sector and oil & gas industry as a project manager, operations specialist and environmental manager. She holds a BSc from the University of Manitoba.

Robyn is committed to expanding knowledge and interest in the field of research project management, and has developed a series of presentations and workshops aimed at enabling successful research through sound management and leadership.
