The Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research (MSFHR) will be hosting an information session about their Scholar Program on Monday, October 17, 2016.

The intent of the Scholar Program is to allow early career researchers to establish an independent research career and is intended for applicants who have a PhD or equivalent and can commit to 75% of their time conducting research.

MSFHR will present the 2017 Scholar Program providing an overview of how to integrate knowledge translation into your program of research. This information session will give an overview of the guidelines, eligibility criteria, and review process for the competitions. The second part of the session will focus on the knowledge translation (KT) expectations for applicants including:

  • KT requirements for the application
  • Why is KT important?
  • What is KT?
  • Ways to embed KT activities into your program of research
  • How KT will be evaluated

Registration

Registration for this workshop is required, and is now open. Graduate students and postdoctoral fellows from all BC post-secondary institutions will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Successfully registered postdocs will receive a confirmation email from the PDFO one week prior to the workshop. All cancellations must be received no later than 24 hours in advance of the workshop.
