The ability to secure funding is a crucial for anyone entering academia. This workshop will provide an overview of the NSERC grant funding system and provide tips on how to develop a successful NSERC-funded research program.   

Facilitator

Dr. Jeffrey Richards

Dr. Jeffrey Richards is a Professor in the Department of Zoology.  He runs an active research program with 9 graduate students with a focus on understanding the physiological and biochemical adaptations to low oxygen tolerance in animals. He has held NSERC discovery grants, an NSERC accelerator supplement, a collaborative research and development grant, a strategic grant, and several research tools and instruments grants.  His teaching responsibilities include Introductory Biochemistry and an advanced course in Biochemical Adaptation.

REGISTRATION

Registration for this workshop is required, and is now open. Registration is limited to currently-appointed UBC postdoctoral fellows and is collected on a first-come, first-served basis. Successfully registered attendees will receive a confirmation email from the PDFO one week prior to the workshop. All cancellations must be received no later than 24 hours in advance of the workshop.
