Compiling Academic CVs: In the academic world of Universities and research institutes, comprehensive Curriculum Vitae (CVs) are essential job search tools. This workshop for Postdoctoral Fellows will explore the differences between resumes and CVs, with a specific focus on the expected elements in an academic CV. Through samples, case examples, and peer review, learn what works and what doesn't. Leave this workshop equipped to compile, organize, and effectively maintain a CV of your relevant academic accomplishments.

Prerequisites:

Prepare for this workshop by compiling a "master CV" that lists all your publications, presentations, teaching/work experience, professional affiliations, licenses/certifications, fellowships, and research grants. Don't worry about format, although a consistent style will be helpful. Bring a printed copy as well as a "soft copy" on your laptop (not on your smart phone, as you'll be editing and formatting this document during the workshop). Also bring 1-2 academic / research postings  or faculty job descriptions to the workshop as a focus for your CV.
