A postdoctoral fellow is being sought to work on a new method of producing CO2-free hydrogen from methane. As the lead researcher on this project, your primary tasks will be related to catalyst development, reactor design, synthesis, and characterization to understand and control the interaction between reactivity, catalyst surfaces, carbon and reactants. The majority of the work will be experimental and involve novel high temperature reactors. Work will be performed at the University of British Columbia (UBC) in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering's Heterogeneous Catalysis Labs and the Clean Energy Research Center under Dr. Chester Upham’s supervision.
The candidate should have a PhD in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering or a related field. The fellowship will be for a one-year appointment, with the possibility of renewal subject to progress and performance. The ideal candidate will work well with the other group members and collaborate on other projects.
Expected salary: $75,000 CAD per annum
