Our methods overcome limitations in the use of X-ray crystallography for drug design and avoid discovery dead ends that can arise from the use of computational docking methods in the absence of experimental validation. Our automated workflows enable determination of relevant 3D structural information at the highest possible resolutions in combination with innovative biochemical methods to explore low-data targets, membrane proteins and protein complexes. Gandeeva seeks to achieve transformative societal impact on public health by revolutionizing drug discovery and by lowering the risk of late-stage clinical failures.
We are building an interdisciplinary and innovative team with biologists, chemists, microscopists, engineers, and software developers who will working closely together in state-of-the-art facilities that provides a stimulating environment reflecting our inclusive and welcoming culture.
We are seeking an experienced Scientist, Cryo-EM Image Processing with demonstrated expertise in analysis of single particle and electron tomographic data collected on electron microscopes.
Responsibilities:
- Active participation in analysis of cryo-EM images from a variety of specimens
- Development of improved workflows for image processing of cryo-EM and cryo-ET data from dynamic macromolecular assemblies both in situ and in purified form
- Active collaboration with biologists and chemists in driving structure-guided drug design
- Ability to supervise junior colleagues (if appointment is at senior level)
Qualifications:
- PhD in biophysics or related discipline, with 3 or more years of relevant experience in cryo-EM image processing
- Familiarity with advanced image processing methods used for structure determination at high resolution
- Proved track record of expertise in computational aspects of structure refinement from cryo-EM density maps to derive atomic models
- Experience in C/C++/Python programming for algorithm implementation on CPU/GPU hybrid computing clusters
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
