MOVEMBER AND UBC ARE TEAMING UP TO SUPPORT THE NEXT GENERATION OF MEN’S HEALTH RESEARCHERS.
We’re looking for three Postdoctoral Fellows within five years of completing their PhD to join the University of British Columbia’s Men’s Health Research Program to build and lead their own research program, and make a lasting impact on boys’ and young men’s emotional and relational health.
WHAT COULD YOU RESEARCH?
- COPING AND CONSUMPTION: Understanding how boys and young men navigate and respond to stress, adversity, and trauma, and the role that alcohol, other drugs, gambling, pornography and other consumption behaviours play.
- SOCIAL CONNECTION: Understanding how relationships with peers, partners, family and community - and the nature, quality or absence of those connections – shape boys’ and young men’s emotional and relational health.
- EARLY FATHERHOOD: Understanding the transition to fatherhood as a critical window for men’s emotional and relational health, including perinatal mental health, paternal identity, the health of families, and engagement with health and support services.
DESIGNED TO SUPPORT YOUR NEXT STEP AS AN INDEPENDENT RESEARCHER.
- A 5-year fellowship beginning in early 2027 at UBC’s Men’s Health Research Program, working with Dr. John Oliffe to develop and lead your own research program.
- $70,000 CAD/year + dedicated project funding + global mentorship and collaboration opportunities.
- Open to researchers within 5 years of completing their PhD with backgrounds in psychology, behavioural or social sciences, epidemiology, public health, health services research, implementation science, or related fields
