UBC has been recognized as one of Canada’s Top Employers for Young People in 2020, for the eighth consecutive year. This special designation recognizes the employers that offer the nation’s best workplaces and programs for young people starting their careers.
For the ninth consecutive year, the PDFO has received special acknowledgement for the services provided to UBC’s postdoctoral community. The PDFO is proud to offer semi-annual orientation sessions for incoming postdocs, as well as professional development workshops on topics such as time management, project management and grant writing. In addition to the services provided by the PDFO, Postdoctoral Fellows are encouraged to take part in workplace wellbeing initiatives at both our Vancouver and Okanagan campuses, and are encouraged to participate in the PDFO’s annual National Postdoc Appreciation Week celebrations.
