** session cancelled **

As of December 2, 2019, this session has been cancelled. Look for it to be rescheduled in early 2020.

Postdoctoral Fellowships can be a stressful time, with heavy workloads and competing priorities leading to the risk of stress and burnout.  Join staff members from UBCs Health, Wellbeing and Benefits team as we explore the strategies, tools and resources available to support your wellbeing as a valuable member of the UBC community.

Using the Okanagan Charter and the National Voluntary Psychological Health and Safety Standards as a framework for action, there will be an opportunity to discuss and learn about how workplace wellbeing can be enhanced through our everyday interactions, practices and operations.

The session will conclude with the opportunity to get hands on and participate in some short wellbeing-enhancing activities and a UBC Benefits expert will be on site to answer any questions.

Facilitator

Melissa Baker, Workplace Wellbeing Startegist with UBC's Health Wellbeing and Benefits

Melissa Baker is a Workplace Wellbeing Strategist with UBC’s Health Wellbeing and Benefits team in central HR. She is a graduate of the UBC Dietetics program and holds a Masters of Health Science from Ryerson University. Melissa is passionate about health promotion and wellbeing and is very excited to see how far the university has come in this area over the past 3 years. One key way she supports her wellbeing is commuting home to Burnaby by bike.
