The Advancing Youth Mental Health (AYM) research team at the Offord Centre for Child Studies at McMaster University, led by Dr. Kathy Georgiades, is seeking a highly motivated, full-time postdoctoral fellow holding a PhD in epidemiology, clinical psychology, health research methodology or a closely related field to start immediately.

Requirements include experience in the area of child and youth mental health, with a particular emphasis on psychiatric epidemiology, clinical psychology and applied quantitative methods. The successful candidate will have access to multiple population level data sources to establish their own program of research including, but not limited to, the following: 1) 2021 COVID-19 Ontario Provincial Assessment and Tracking of Child and Family Health (ON:PATH) study, a provincial longitudinal study of children, youth, and their families during COVID-19; b) the 2019 Canadian Health Survey on Children and Youth (CHSCY), a national survey of children’s health and well- being; c) the 2014 Ontario Child Health Study (OCHS), a provincial study of child and youth mental health linked to administrative health and education data, both retrospectively and prospectively, and d) the School Mental Health Surveys, a cross-sectional survey of over 30,000 students attending 248 schools across Ontario designed to examine contextual level influences of schools on student mental health. The post-doctoral fellow will lead secondary analyses of existing large-scale, population-health surveys, and co-develop and apply novel and innovative data collection methods in the area of child and youth mental health sciences.

This is a one-year position, renewable for up to two additional years. Remuneration is based on guidelines provided by McMaster University and the Canadian Institutes of Health Research.
