Project Description
My research focuses on child protection during the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, examining child protection practices involving the Ukrainian state, security sector, and national and international civil society; understanding the politics of child protection during total war; and broadening our understanding of how children participate in war efforts. This project is based on interviews with child protection practitioners and analysis of relevant documents, policies, and communications, drawing on interdisciplinary literature on children and armed conflict, children's agency, total war, humanitarianism, and post-colonial approaches to Eastern Europe.
