Filing taxes can be intimidating. This one-hour information session with the Canada Revenue Agency’s BC Outreach team will provide a basic, general overview of the Canadian tax system and some of the benefits and credits to which you may be entitled as you prepare to file your tax return. Some of these benefits and credits may include:

  • The Canada child benefit;
  • Goods and services tax/Harmonized Sales Tax credit; and/or
  • Disability tax credit.

Please note that this session is designed to be a basic introductory overview of Canadian taxes and may not address postdoc-specific issues.

Registration in this session is required and is now open.Those successfully registered will receive a registration confirmation within one week of the session date.

NO-SHOW PENALTY: If you register and do not attend or cancel after 3pm on the day before the event, it may affect your eligibility to join future events. To avoid this no-show penalty, please cancel by at least 3pm the day before the event by e-mailing postdoctoral.fellows@ubc.ca.
