Registration is now open for UBC’s virtual Graduate Students in Teaching (GSiT) Conference 2024 (May 7 & 8, 2024). This conference is an opportunity for graduate students and TAs to discuss and explore their present and future roles in teaching.

This Graduate Students in Teaching (GSiT) conference is a two day annual conference that typically takes place during the Celebrate Learning Week At the University of British Columbia (UBC) in Vancouver, BC. This conference is an opportunity for graduate students to focus on the present and future role of graduate students in teaching: graduate students teaching now, as well as graduate students as future faculty.

The first GSiT (Mini) Conference took place in May 2017 at UBC. Since 2017, UBC, UVIC and SFU graduate students have been leading sessions on their current teaching practices and SoTL/TAR research projects. In 2020 we moved the conference online (due to the pandemic) and also started to accept proposals from presenters outside of British Columbia and Canada. The sessions during this conference are often interactive sessions that involve the participants in conversations around teaching and learning theory and practice.
