The ability to secure funding is a crucial skill for anyone entering academia. This workshop for UBC PDFs features Dr. Jeffrey Richards, who will be drawing upon his experience to provide an overview of effective NSERC grant writing and outline keys for success. This session is tailored to NSERC application writing.
About the Facilitator:
Dr. Jeffrey Richards is an Associate Professor in the Department of Zoology. He runs an active research program with 2 post-docs and 7 graduate students with a focus on understanding the physiological and biochemical adaptations to low oxygen tolerance in animals. He has held NSERC discovery grants, an NSERC accelerator supplement, a collaborative research and development grant, and several research tools and instruments grants. His teaching responsibilities include Introductory Biochemistry and an advanced course in Biochemical Adaptation.
