This practical, hands-on workshop for Postdoctoral Fellows will equip you to structure and polish a compelling resume for professional career opportunities in industry, beyond university faculty positions, The best resumes are targeted to specific positions. This workshop will introduce tips for constructing a resume, customized for a specific job, that industry leaders won't overlook.

Prerequisites:

Prepare for this workshop by developing a "master resume" that compiles all your past work accomplishments, experience, education, and community involvement into a single document. Don't worry about format, although a consistent style will be helpful. Bring a printed copy as well as a "soft copy" on your laptop (not on your smart phone, as you'll be editing and formatting this document during the workshop). Also bring 1-2 job advertisements or job descriptions to the workshop as a focus for your targeted resume.

Dr. Roberta Neault, CCC, GCDF-i, CCDP, is an award-winning leader in the career development sector, in Canada and internationally. She is a noted author and speaker on topics related to career management; her vivid anecdotes, practical examples, and wealth of resources make her a “must see.” Roberta's academic career has involved contract work at 9 universities across Canada, the US, and Asia.
