Registration in this workshop is required. Interested registrants will be confirmed on a first-come first-served basis with minor preference given to more senior postdocs. Successfully registered postdocs will receive a confirmation email from the PDFO within one week prior to the workshop.

Workshop Summary

Career planning is a journey and it begins with You. Before you complete your Postdoctoral Fellowship, it is useful to clarify your career goals.This 3-hour workshop provides a chance to  explore your career interests, transferable skills, and key work values through reflective self –assessments and group activities. Using past accomplishments and powerful self-marketing techniques you will learn how to update your career plan and uncover the hidden job market.This interactive workshop will help you create a practical Action Plan to strategically position yourself for your future career move in and outside of academia.

Svjetlana Pantovic

Svjetlana Pantovic is a Career Development Consultant with a background in Psychology and over 14 years of experience in career counselling, workshop facilitation and program development. She worked extensively with a diverse clientele including national and international graduates, professional and technical workers - clients from all ages and backgrounds.  Currently, she works as a Career Advisor at WorkBC Employment Services Centre in Vancouver helping unemployed adults clarify their career goals and find work in the modern job market. At UBC Life and Career Programs, through career testing, she helps individuals, high school and post-secondary students plan their next steps and successfully navigate career and life transitions.
