Algoma University invites applications for a tenure-track appointment in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in the School of Computer Science and Technology, at its Sault Ste. Marie campus, commencing September 1, 2023 or as negotiated. 

Preference will be given to candidates with a completed PhD degree in Computer Science or related field and a demonstrated commitment to undergraduate teaching and research. We are seeking a candidate with expertise in teaching artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), internet of things (IoT), and data science, with a demonstrated relevant academic background, research portfolio and a record of teaching excellence. Experience with remote/online/hybrid instruction is desirable.

Candidates should submit:

  • a letter of application
  • a current CV
  • a statement of teaching philosophy and evidence of teaching effectiveness (e.g., examples of peer and/or student evaluations)
  • a research plan (up to two single-spaced pages)
  • sample publications
  • the names, contact information and relationship of five referees (one of whom should be the most recent immediate supervisor)
