A postdoctoral position is available Sept 1, 2016 in the laboratory of Dr. Jane Rylett in the Robarts Research Institute, Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry at Western

University. Dr. Rylett has a long-standing interest in age-related neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer disease, and the function of cholinergic neurons. This is a two-year position investigating the impact of changes in brain microenvironment including inflammation and insulin-resistance on cholinergic neuron regulation and plasticity. The responsibilities of the candidate will include participation in a multi-faceted research project, manuscript preparation and engaging in student training. Qualified applicants for this position must have a PhD degree in Physiology, Pharmacology or a related discipline, with significant expertise in cell biology, microscopy, mouse behavioural testing and quantitative neurochemical/biochemical assays. A stipend will be paid commensurate with experience.
