Embryology Supervisor/Senior Scientist for Human IVF Laboratory, Genesis Fertility Laboratory

Reporting to the Laboratory Director, the successful candidate will directly supervise a young and dynamic team for clinical and administrative duties in our Vancouver Laboratory.

As a senior member of the scientific team, you will be both a “hands on” Senior Embryologist, providing expert embryology services and be responsible for the results of the other laboratory members.

Candidates must be willing to learn how to perform all aspects of IVF as specifically applied in this laboratory. Duties include participation in a stringent ongoing QA/QC program, assistance in data entry, and administrative tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform Assisted Reproductive Technology procedures including ICSI and embryo biopsy
  • Lead, manage, develop and appraise scientific staff to consistently meet productivity and performance expectations
  • Resolve or escalate day to day operational issues
  • Provide excellent service and care to Reproductive Medicine patients and clients
  • Provide efficient management of laboratory resources and budget
  • Ensure compliance with protocols and quality systems
  • Ensure safe work environment
  • Maintain operational readiness of the laboratory

Our Ideal Candidate Will Bring:

  • At least 4 years of experience as an IVF Scientist including supervisory experience
  • Master of Science degree
  • Expert skills, extensive clinical experience and contemporary knowledge of Human Embryology
  • Experience in all aspects of micromanipulation including ICSI, laser assisted hatching and day 3/5 embryo biopsy
  • Teritary qualifications ain science, post graduate qualifications in a relevant field would be preferred
  • Experience in quality assurance and control and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Salary and Benefits:

This is a permanent full time position with full benefit package inclusive of B.C. medical plan coverage, extended benefits, disability insurance and an RRSP matching program. Remuneration is $90,000 - $110,000 per annum.
